Meet Sierra - Postpartum Care Doula

I have been working with families for over 10 years as a nanny, caring for children of all ages. My love of caring for newborns and babies, specifically, led me to attend a postpartum doula training in Los Angeles, through DONA International. I think it is incredibly important to be present, patient, kind, and doing this kind of work allows me to create a safe and supportive space with those principles. My passion for caregiving started at an early age with my two younger sisters and thoroughly enjoying taking care of them. Attending both of their births at home was also truly an incredible experience for me as a young girl. It allowed me to witness what the human body is capable of and what a beautiful and powerful experience bringing a baby earthside is. I have truly loved supporting parents and their babies. I am currently serving parents and babies in Lake Tahoe and Southern California. I look forward to connecting and making the transition with a newborn a bit more easeful, with loving tools, attentive care and non-judgmental support.

“The ways in which the women, baby, partner and siblings make the transition to a new family unit have a long-term impact on their physical and emotional health. The postpartum doula fills a large gap in maternity care and is able to facilitate a smooth and rewarding transition.”
